🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club hosted its first-ever 'Battle at the Border Rugby Day' on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Ferndale's deWilde Rugby & Polo Fields. The event featured two matches: the Seattle Orcas' B squad against the Chuckanut Bay Geoducks, and the Orcas' starting lineup against the Vancouver Ravens.

Kellen Wiggins, Chuckanut Bay Athletic Association president, said the event brought 'premier-level rugby directly to our local fans within Whatcom County.' Youth skills camps led by the Seattle Seawolves, a professional rugby team, were held before the matches. Devin Short, the Seawolves' director of youth programming, taught six kids rugby traditions and sportsmanship.
