( Andy Bronson /Cascadia Daily News) Anacortes vs. Lynden When: 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 Where: Lynden High The last football program to defeat Lynden four years in a row was Ferndale from 2005–09. Since the Jake Locker era, the Lions have lost to a couple other squads three times in a row, but the perennial powerhouse has dominated nearly every series it has been a part of, including Anacortes. However, Anacortes has the opportunity to become the first team to defeat Lynden four times in a row in 17 years. The potential fourth victory will not be an easy matchup for the Seahawks. Similar to previous seasons, the Anacortes vs. Lynden battle will be a top-10 matchup with talented players on both sides of the ball. Anacortes is led by Washington State University commit Ryan Harrington. The senior quarterback has put up video-game numbers against some of the top teams in the state, including seven touchdowns against Archbishop Murphy in a triple-overtime victory Sept. 18. Harrington’s top receiving threat, Andre Carter, has made a name for himself in the first half of the season. In the first three weeks, Carter tallied 21 catches for 301 yards and three touchdowns.
