I-5 lane reductions scheduled for Aug. 15-16

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Northbound I-5 in Bellingham will be reduced to one lane for two days beginning Saturday, Aug. 15, according to Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The work will occur from 6–10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 16, between Samish Way and Texas Street (mileposts 252–254). The Iowa Street on-ramp to northbound I-5 will also close from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

WSDOT maintenance crews will replace concrete panels to create a smoother ride for motorists. The project requires dry weather, and may be rescheduled if it rains. The city urges drivers to check WSDOT's real-time travel map for updates.
