I-5 Fish Passage Construction Delays Continue

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

WSDOT announced several lane closures on I-5 near Bellingham for fish passage construction through September and October.

Northbound I-5 will close one lane nightly from Sept. 8-10 near Lake Samish, and a single lane will be used on I-5 from Sept. 9-10 near Alger/Lake Samish Road. A bypass road will be used around Chuckanut Creek through October for fish passage work. Detours are in place for off-ramps closing during overnight work.

WSDOT says the work is part of a project to install new fish passable structures under I-5. The project webpage provides more details.
