Concrete Sauk Valley Road, South Skagit Highway to Close for Culvert Repairs

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Skagit County will close Concrete Sauk Valley Road at milepost 13 south of Rockport from July 27 through Oct. 23 for a $2. 6 million culvert replacement project. The South Osterman Creek culvert, damaged in past floods, will be replaced with a fish-passable, flood-resilient structure. Konnerup Construction will lead the work, funded by FEMA Public Assistance and local dollars.

South Skagit Highway will close east of Clear Lake from Aug. 3 through Oct. 26 for a $1. 3 million Stevens Creek culvert project. Earthwork Solutions will replace the barrier to fish passage, funded through the state Rural Arterial Program. Both closures prohibit through traffic but allow local access.
