BPS families and community members submitted many heartfelt nominations recognizing educators who go above and beyond for students. One nomination told the story of a teacher who challenges students to grow, recognizes their individual strengths, and shows up for them both inside and outside the classroom. That teacher is Mr. Doss Herndon-Schepper. His nominators shared how he helped their daughters embrace challenges and build confidence in difficult subjects. One of their daughters was excited to show her family the math strategies she had learned and told them Mr. H had “taught her more than any other teacher had before.” And that was just one story.
