Bellingham Schools to Notify on Meal Debt

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

Bellingham Public Schools will begin sending weekly reminders to families with negative meal account balances over $5 starting Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Notifications will be sent every Wednesday, and families can check balances through Skyward Family Access. The district says households certified for free or reduced-price meals later in the school year won’t have to repay earlier debt. Families can pay online, by cash, or check at school cafeterias.

Questions can be directed to [email protected] or 360-676-6540. The policy applies to all schools, including those with Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and Meals for Washington Students (MWS) programs.
