Bellingham Modernizes Council Agendas

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

The City of Bellingham announced changes to its Council meeting agendas to enhance transparency and accessibility. Agendas will now be published one week before meetings, up from five days, to give residents more time to review items and plan attendance. The first updated agenda was released for the January 26, 2026, meeting.

The changes include improved software integration, new workflows, and collaboration between multiple city departments, including the Mayor’s Office, Council Office, IT, City Attorney, and Finance. The city stated these updates aim to make meeting materials more readable, accurate, and complete.

City staff worked behind the scenes to implement these changes, with the goal of making it easier for community members to engage in local decision-making. Residents can view updated agendas and materials at meetings.cob.org.
