Ferndale’s Svetlana Baydak reaches for the ball against Mount Vernon in a September 2025 match. ( Andy Bronson /Cascadia Daily News) Oak Harbor vs. Ferndale When: 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28 Where: Ferndale High Ferndale is a dangerously good squad this season. Oak Harbor began the season with a 3-1 record and looks to defeat its 3A rival in a matchup that can influence the postseason. The Wildcats lost to Squalicum before rallying for wins against Lakewood, Mount Baker and Nooksack Valley. Oak Harbor has a handful of seniors on its front line ready to challenge the Golden Eagles’ talented lineup. However, the Wildcats have yet to test against higher-quality opponents and seem outmatched against Ferndale. Ferndale should leave its home court with positive results after the final po
