Whatcom County will host a community engagement workshop on July 22 to discuss the proposed Behavioral Care Center and New Jail projects. The event will cover facility size, features, and programming details as the County prepares to hand over the projects to a Design-Build team.
The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, and will provide residents with an opportunity to learn about the upcoming projects. County officials aim to gather public input before finalizing the plans with the Design-Build team.
The County also announced that all county offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, to honor Juneteenth. This closure is part of the County's observance of the federal holiday celebrating the end of slavery.
