WSDOT announced multiple road closures affecting Bellingham and surrounding areas beginning late July. On July 31 and August 1, eastbound I-90 off-ramps to Snoqualmie Parkway and westbound I-90 off-ramps to SR 18 will close nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for striping work. A detour via exit 27 or 20 is recommended.

From August 3 to 7, US 2 will have alternating traffic with flaggers from Money Creek Campground to Skykomish. I-90 will close two lanes between Eighth Avenue South and the floating bridge on August 4-5, and I-405 will fully close northbound from August 7-10 for a detour. Other closures include SR 522, SR 526, and SR 20 for utility and maintenance work through mid-August.
